DISCOVERING THE NEEDS OF THE MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES IS WHERE OUR WORK BEGINS.

Prevention Projects

Children need a safe place to go, so that is what we have created. We bus kids out of the most dangerous slums to our facilities, where they have a space to learn and grow.

The children have access to vocational training skills such as baking, carpentry, judo, music, art, along with receiving tutoring and counseling. By providing a secure environment with a trained counselor and social worker, we give them a way out of exploitation and a better future.

MANY OF THE AREAS WE WORK IN ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR CHILDREN.

Not only is sexual exploitation and sex-trafficking the only life they’ve ever known, but they also experience extreme physical abuse and violence on a daily basis. We focus on educating and helping entire families, attempting to stop issues at the root before it’s too late.

Mateo's Story: Chained to the Wall

Our friend Ana’s* nine-year-old son, Mateo*, is currently trapped in a deadly predicament. He uses drugs, steals to get drug money, and remains involved with traffickers, even though he knows it could get him killed.

Ana’s family lives in extreme poverty. She’s a single mom who works 12-hour days to support her four young children, and in order to keep Mateo out of trouble while she is working, she chains him by the foot inside their one-bedroom shanty so he can’t run away. It’s the only option she thinks she has to keep her son alive.

Seeking wisdom and utilizing the resources of our faithful partners, we assess the needs of families like Ana’s and develop educational, social, medical, and financial plans to keep their children safe and their families together.
