25 Years of Freedom
For 25 years, God has been faithful and Life Impact’s mission has remained the same. Prevent. Rescue. Heal. We’ve prevented the exploitation of children, rescued those at risk, and healed those who’ve been harmed. Freedom has prevailed.
Month after month, a faithful group of Freedom Partners stands at the center of everything we do, but we need more Freedom Partners to continue growing the mission as we rescue more children than ever before. Our transition homes are expanding, and the number of children in our family-style safe homes is increasing. Prevention work is growing in new communities.
We still need your help. Become a Monthly Freedom Partner because freedom for children is worth sustaining.

“Greetings from Tulsa…” were the opening words of a letter our Founder wrote 25 years ago as God prepared her for the call on her life.
Today those greetings come from places like Thailand, Burma, and Brazil, where we are working to Prevent child exploitation, Rescue those in danger, and Heal those broken by trauma.
Because of your faithful monthly generosity as a Freedom Partner, the work of Life Impact continues to grow around the world. Prevention projects in three locations across Brazil and outreaches in Thailand and Burma are expanding every day. Our rescue work grows as we build relationships in some of the most dangerous communities in the world for children. And as we bring them to safety, we spend our lives helping them heal through counseling, education, nutritious meals, sports, and ballet.
As we celebrate 25 years of Freedom, watch this video of Lana reading that very first letter that launched it all. We pray it inspires you to continue to stand with us as a Freedom Partner and help Change Lives and Change the World.

Letter from Founder
As we celebrate 25 Years of Freedom, I want to invite you to take this journey with us — to look back at what God has done through our partners and to look ahead at what He is calling us to do next.
Twenty-five years ago, in 2001, I heard God’s call to go to Thailand to help vulnerable and at-risk children. I heard how children as young as eight years old were being sold, and so I became “Momma” to 52 at-risk children in a prevention home.
Then, I saw for myself how desperate poverty and exploitation among the most vulnerable led parents to sell their children, including infants, for as little as $18. I knew I had to go to the mouth of the river to stop it at the source, along the Thai/Burma border, where 60 women and children were trafficked daily to the red light districts of Bangkok.
Soon, what began as simple obedience quickly grew. We rescued our first 8-year-old girl, who was sold for $24, and one girl turned into 12, and 12 turned into 60. We then began our work in Burma in response to Cyclone Nargis’ orphaned children. This opened the door to our rescue work involving children forced to be child soldiers or child brides for the vicious military junta. We purchased land and built family-style safe homes along the Thai-Burma border. But it didn’t end there, we were just getting started, and took on the giant of child exploitation in Brazil, where we have prevention projects in three locations and a safe home in the interior of the Amazon.
For 25 years, the mission has remained the same: Prevent. Rescue. Heal. And because of faithful partners like you, thousands of children have experienced freedom from exploitation.
But freedom isn’t free.
Freedom takes faithfulness.
