We were told that as many as 60 children are trafficked on our border every single day. No one would take them in. We had to help.
PREVENT. RESCUE. HEAL.
Lana Vasquez – Life Impact International
Growing up in Southern California, Lana found herself addicted to alcohol and drugs, looking for love in all of the wrong places, dancing in the clubs of Hollywood, and eventually developing epilepsy from drug use – all by the age of 18. Then, at 19 years old, Lana heard the Gospel for the first time and everything changed. Immediately, she was delivered from drugs and alcohol, and she was even healed from epilepsy. In that moment, it became her personal commitment to reach and rescue others. This commitment and purpose have led her to some of the most desperate places on the earth, searching for the lost and most vulnerable with a vision to Prevent, Rescue and Heal at-risk children around the world.
In April of 2001, leaving behind family and friends, Lana made the move to Thailand and at just 24 years old, she quickly became “Momma” to 52 children in a prevention home. For over 17 years, Lana and the Life Impact International team have been relentlessly working to make a difference in the lives of trafficked, exploited and at-risk children in Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) and the war-zones in between. The strategy is simple: Prevent, Rescue and Heal. Prevent the atrocities of exploitation in all its forms, from trafficking, abuse and abandonment, to slavery and prostitution, rescue as many children as possible and ultimately bring healing to their hearts, bodies and minds.
Life Impact International has grown from the desire in one girl’s heart to reach and rescue others with the power and love of Jesus Christ, to an international organization effectively fighting child exploitation throughout Southeast Asia and Brazil. Lana’s heart, along with the Life Impact team, is that this impact would only continue to spread throughout the world!
