Umpium Refugee Camp

This week, the forecast calls for rain. While most of northern Thailand is rejoicing—the pollution and dust will finally settle—fire victims at Umpium Refugee Camp are at risk. After they lost their homes and possessions, people are now living in crowded community centers and under tarps on their old plots of land.

We visited on March 8 to distribute canisters for drinking water and blankets, and to find out how we can support the people of Umpium. Please remember them in your prayers. Pray that they would be protected from the rain, that they will be able to rebuild their homes before the rainy season begins (usually in May), and that their other needs would be met.
